They don’t make donuts like they used to – except at Charlie’s, that is. A stay in 30A isn’t complete without eating one of Charlie’s fresh, hand-rolled donuts for breakfast.
Fan favorites include the old-fashioned sour cream pound cake donut, the maple bacon donut, glazed and chocolate glazed donuts, the coconut cream donut, the red velvet donut, and the blueberry cake donut. These thick and hearty donuts weigh between three and five ounces apiece and are sure to leave your stomach feeling every bit as content as your taste buds.

For a hotdog that’s so much more than a hotdog, you’ve got to stop by Wild Bill’s Beach Dogs in Santa Rosa Beach. Wild Bill’s starts with a Let’s Be Frank. There are no fillers, nitrites, or nitrates added to the recipe and no hormones or antibiotics in the meat itself – just natural, delicious beef and/or pork hotdog meat (depending on which dog you choose).
Next, Wild Bill’s takes the hotdog from low-brow fare to gourmet cuisine. Get it Chicago style and wash it down with a box wine, top it with grass-fed beef chili or Wild Bill’s secret recipe mustard, or turn up the heat with a dash of devil sauce. However you do hotdogs, Wild Bill’s has a dog for you.

Cool off with something delicious at Frost Bites, the very first Airstream food truck in Seaside, FL. Hawaiian shaved ice is a bestseller, but you’ve never had water ice or snow cones quite like this. Frost Bites prides itself on its generous scoops of super-fine ice. These frozen treats have a unique texture almost as creamy as ice cream, but with the refreshing taste you know and love from shaved ice. Besides the more than 30 individual flavors of single shaved ice options, you can also choose from 60 combination shaved ice flavors with fun names like “zombie apocalypse,” “bad date,” and “lime in the coconut.”
Part of what makes Frost Bites treats so special is the different combinations and configurations of shaved ice, frozen custard, and cream sauce. Get your shaved ice “stuffed” with a helping of frozen custard on the bottom or sandwich it between custard and cream, “Piggly-Wiggly” style. Wedding cake, creamsicle, and coconut cream pie are just a few of the fan favorites. Children and adults alike gush over the shaved ice and gummies treats, including “butterfly kisses” and “shark attack.” The frozen lemonade is also highly recommended.

Can’t decide what to get? We don’t blame you for feeling indecisive. Even locals are hard-pressed to choose just one of these airstreams as the best food truck in Seaside.
Our recommendation is to purchase signature dishes from a few of the Seaside food trucks and split them among your group. That way, everyone gets to sample a taste of what the different food trucks have to offer.
With the plethora of dine-in restaurants dotting the beach communities of 30A Florida, each with its own unique ambiance and charm, how did food trucks become such as staple in Seaside and beyond? Airstream Row dates back to 1996, when Frost Bites established the first vintage Airstream food truck location out of necessity, because retail space in the New Urbanist community was at a premium.
And, as you can see from the long list of food trucks in 30A Florida, the idea caught on. “Gourmet food truck” may sound like a paradox—much like setting up a new business in an aluminum Airstream that dates back to 1955—but these one-of-a-kind establishments fit the vibe of the Emerald Coast perfectly. Grabbing a quick yet delectable bite outdoors meshes perfectly with the lifestyles of our beachgoing locals and tourists.
The food trucks along 30A allow you to enjoy some of the best cuisine our area has to offer in the midst of a day of shopping, sightseeing, barhopping, lounging on the beach, and otherwise making the absolute most of your time here. Made with the same quality of fresh and locally grown ingredients as meals in our favorite local sit-down restaurants, the best food trucks in 30A are dining destinations unto themselves—and you won’t want to miss them.
Southern Living and Travel + Leisure have highlighted the wonder of our little section of the Florida Panhandle, naming Inlet Beach among the top “beaches that look like the Caribbean” and South Walton County a “trending destination” for 2022. Read more about what they had to say.
